Welcome to my blog! I post about the world, writing, science, miscellany, books, movies, politics, and a wide range of other subjects. Take a look around and see if something catches your eye!
I echo your sentiments.Btw, are you anywhere near where the hurricane is expected to hit? If you are, stay safe.
Same from me. Everyone be careful out there.
I would hate to have that thing barreling down on me. Best of luck to all those in its path, and stay safe!
Stay safe, everyone! Angela @ The Bookshelf Muse
Scary... I'm glad I live on the southern tip of Africa where major weather things hardly ever ever happen. Stay safe, people!PS. Thanks for introducing me to Sumo Paint in your previous blog post. Had never heard of it before.
Thank you! It's started raining, but we're not supposed to get the worst of it until tomorrow.
Thanks! Where I live is getting hit tomorrow. It's a good thing I like big storms! :)
My sentiments, too. Make smart decisions, everyone.
I'm far enough inland that I'm not sure I have much to worry about. But I do worry about anyone that might be in Irene's path.
Ditto to everyone staying safe!
Thanks everyone! My house is supposed to be hit within the next few hours. Sleeping in the basement tonight. Please stay safe everyone
Yes please - be safe, take extra care and be careful!! xx
We got a little rain and wind, but it was much lighter than expected.
I have lots of friends in the path of evil Irene and I am worried about all of them.
Thank you all. The one good thing is that people are all pulling together and helping each other to prepare and then to get through it. What made me laugh - Starbucks, closed. Liquor stores - open!
They give them such nice, innocent names. Like Irene. Who would usually expect an Irene to be wreaking devastating destruction?Hope all in her path get through it okay. I'm very lucky not to live in a hurricane prone area.
thx ge, we don't expect much except some winds/rain in my area... stay safe!
I'm with Rachel on this one. No extreme weather here, even though the Cape of Storms has that name for a reason. ;-)
WE don't have hurricanes but the wind has certianly picked up making the chill factor higher, so I'm now in winter woolies while everyone else is still is short sleeves! Have a great, safe weekend too.
We could use the rain from a hurricane here in California. I hope the East Coasters are okay and getting out of harm's path, especially the elderly.
Ditto your thoughts.
Cherie: There's just rain--no hurricanes, thankfully!Sarah: Exactly.Marlena: Me, too!Angela: I hope there isn't much more damage . . .Rachel: There isn't that much extreme weather around here, usually; though five years ago there was severe flooding. You're welcome! :) Hope you find it useful!Theresa: Hope you're okay!Cassandra: Take care . . .Angelina: Otherwise it could turn out badly. :(Rusty: Me, too.Ann: Yup.Yvie: Hope there wasn't much damage where you are. I don't think I could sleep very well . . . even in the basement.Old Kitty: Same from me.Alex: That's good!Brian: There are a couple or so people I know in real life who live along the coast; but most others are bloggers.Li: Really? :P C'mon, people!Adina: I was reading earlier, and I believe "Irene" actually comes from a word that means "peace". Bit of a misnomer.Laughingwolf: Same here. It's a little windy, and it's been raining all day, but nothing else . . .Misha: Unlike some places! :PMadeleine: It's chillier here as well. I'm wearing a sweatjacket, but only needed a t-shirt yesterday. Thanks!Stephen: I hope you get some rain soon!Especially the elderly.Charles: At least it doesn't seem to be wreaking the worst possible havoc . . . yet.
Ellie: Hope things are calm where you are!
Hope everyone is alright! Over here the worst weather we're having is the heat...which is pretty bad, but not like a hurricane. :)
I hope everyone is safe too. Scary seeing those weather pics.
Yes, I hope people stay safe. I know many who live along that coast.
I hope everyone did well. We just had some minor wind.
Kendall: I hope you get some cooler weather soon!Lynda: It is.Clarissa: I know a few; but most of the people I know along the coast are actually bloggers.Ciara: Same here--with some rain. The river swelled a bit, but there wasn't any flooding.
