*ducks in anticipation of tomatoes*
So, I kind of took an unplanned hiatus from blogging, except for a guest post by the lovely Rachel Morgan last week. By so doing I missed a blogfest and the Insecure Writer's Support Group and have neglected visiting and commenting on blogs, which I feel terrible about. My apologies to all the hosts and to the wonderful people who came by and read and commented on my blog recently, because I really didn't keep up my end of the bargain here.
I'm not exactly back into the blogging swing, either. May and June have kind of been crazy months and the next couple of weeks promise to be even crazier. I'm aiming for July to sort out--well, reinstate--my blogging schedule completely (of course, right when Google Reader shuts down, hurrah), so this post is more of a I'm-not-dead-and-hope-you-still-remember-me kind of announcement. I'm definitely going to be publishing posts in the future, just not on as regular a basis until the dust settles.
But enough about me. Anything new with you? Really, tell me . . . got a new project, draft, book deal, agent, pet, kid, whatever? Is there exciting stuff happening in your life? What are you looking forward to right now?

Hey Golden! That's all right. We didn't kick you out of the IWSG. Try either Feedly or Bloglovin' as a replacement for Google Reader. There are a couple others out there as well.
Hey, glad to see you back. Hope things get sorted out.
Sounds like you are a busy bee, same old same old with me
I switched to Feedly and like it even better than Google Reader.
It's been quiet out there. I'm trying to remember if things slowed down last summer too?
I'm attending a writing workshop by an author who used to write family humor and has migrated over to fiction so I'm excited to meet local writers, get some professional feedback and if I'm lucky maybe some help reaching contacts or at least getting good advice on ways to expand my platform.
Glad you are well - we all desire a break from time to time.
No worries. Life gets in the way sometimes.
Sometimes you just need a break. Its all good. I feel guilty because I don't always get to read everyone I like to follow.
Hugs and chocolate,
Shelly
There is a lot of that going around, blogs going neglected because life intervenes. Unless you make your living by your blog, it's the easiest, logical thing to drop. Come back when you can.
Nice to see you, even if it's just a brief hello. I finished my scifi wip and am letting it sit for a while before revising and reading Beyond Black by Hilary Mantel. I'll be looking for you come July!
I understand the craziness! don't worry too much - we all have those times, and I'm having one of them right now myself, in the lead-up to moving house. Plus I've been babysitting an invalid cat. ;)
Anyway, good to see a post from you!
Everyone needs a break now and again.
Take the time you need to let the dust settle, otherwise it gets all in your nose and makes you sneeze and then stuff really does get everywhere.
I've been on Feedly now for a couple months. The last update addressed the couple things I really disliked, so now I'm in "deep like" with my reader.
See ya soon.
We've all been there... no worries, Golden!
Still plugging away at my two novels. Hopefully on will be ready to query by the end of next week...
We'll be here when you get back. Enjoy your break!
We totally understand, Golden Eagle, and we still love you. We'll be here when you get back.

Life often gets completely out of control chaotic for me too. It's more than okay to let the bloggyverse slide for a while until things settle. Take care of yourself and enjoy! :)
Gotta take care of your life. I hope you're not stressing too much. Good luck and much success :)
.....dhole
I bet your break hasn't been as long as mine :-)
Take care of you, Birdie x
Welcome back!
Good to have you back, life has an awful habit of getting in the way.
Hi Golden Eagle!
Glad to know that you're okay!

Welcome back Kotter! It's good to see you back online. We got a fish...
You'll get no tomatoes thrown from me. I've been on a bit of a hiatus myself as I am eyeball-deep in the writing and revision of two different novels. So I totally understand!
wb ge... missed ya
only new with me is i'm leaving facebook thursday [finally] to get back writing [once i learn the new software] and animation [once i learn the new software] ...if nothing else, keep the old bean entertained ;)
Good to hear from you. I am still writing the sequel to The Jowler and a short story for Corvus set in CO2 world. Also off to France for a while :)
Yes, no worries, great to have you book. For what it's worth I'm fnding Feedly more or less does what I need on the blog reading front.
I think May and June were two months on steroids--I've never been so overwhelmed. I totally understand why you needed a break.
Hope it helped. Glad you're back.
Glad you'e coming back.
Good to know all is well.
Enjoy your busyness :)
Hey, welcome back to the blogosphere! I've been rather MIA too, while working on a 2+ month long revision. Looking forward to seeing how that is received (or not). LOL Have a great week!
Happening? Well, lol, I hit my brother in the face with a baseball and knocked a tooth loose accidentally!!!
Yeah, I've been swamped too and am just getting back into blogging. That's all just part of the game and people are very understanding:)
I know the feeling. Hope all is going well in your crazy months. I'm having some crazy months too and like you blogger has been on the back burner and I keep missing amazing fests etc, which can't be helped. Good to know you are well.
quit fb 3x thursday... 5 hr later account still active :( ...made my page 'private' on monday... will see what develops
You sound seriously busy. Hope things settle enough for you to get everything done.
See you whenever you're back. :-)
Hope things are starting to settle down for you now. It's actually the opposite for me, things are becoming more and more crazy and I'm having a hard time keeping up with the blogging thing. Plus, next week the kids are on summer vacation, so that means crazy X 2000! :D
I love busy months, and mine will soon get busier. I just got engaged (YAY!) and I'm working on finishing my second book, which I plan to publish in September. The fun never stops :)
I enjoyed reading your post and I like your take on the issue. Thanks. csbe
