Blurb:
I'm not sure how it all went wrong.
The concept was simple.
The Trials were made to test us. They were made to challenge our strengths; our bravery.
We were supposed to come out better.
Winning the Trials would make us Superior citizens.
It would bring us honor and demonstrate our loyalty to the Imperial Alliance. I knew exactly what I wanted.
Until I met him.
There was something about him. Something dark. If only I had known the danger it would put us in.
I thought I knew the risks.
But I never imagined the price we'd pay.

Sound like a book you'd check out? What's an upcoming debut that's caught your eye?

Saw at another sea already, the cover is still great good and steady.
Jessica rocks!
It is a beautiful cover. What genre is it?
Definitely an eye-catching cover.
I love the cover, but I always like to see a few lines (taken from the blurb, perhaps) on a cover to give more idea of what is inside. The colours are awesome!
I love reading debut books, but the author has probably already written a lot more and has stashed them away. How about you, Jessica?
Definitely sounds interesting and the cover is great!
It doesn't really catch my eye I'm afraid. It sounds a bit cliched almost? Maybe I'm a bit too cynical.
I like the style of the blurb and that cover ROCKS.
Reminds me a little too much of The Hunger Games, but we'll see. Thanks for posting!
Thanks so much! You're awesome :) Glad you could help out!

Great color scheme!
Oh goodness, she's getting it published?! I didn't think I'd forgotten to check her blog for THAT long... That looks like an amazing cover, and the blurb has definitely got me drawn in. I want to read! But if you'll excuse me, I think I'd better go and get up-to-date with Jessica's blog...
Great-looking cover! The blurb reminds me of the Hunger Games.
Just the perfect sort of book for YA fiction.

Carole: Sounds like it!
it has a slight aroma of cheese but other than that it sounds great, it sounds like an inner conflict story with revelations on what we really value.
Intriguing blurb, thanks for sharing.
