Great idea, Melody!

Tip #1
When selecting a template, try to make sure that it doesn't have attachments that stick out onto the sidebar/post area.
I've seen several blogs with flower/clips/objects that are stationary on the sides, and as you scroll, they cover up text and images. Moving the screen is always an option, but it is easier for the reader if they aren't there.

Tip #2
Participate in tags, awards, and blog parades/parties if you want to get attention!
This is an easy way to make yourself known in the blogger community. Link up to things as well, where people can see your blog listen.

Tip #3
Blog about what you want to blog about.
Be yourself! :)

Three Top Tips

I have decided to participate in Three Top Tips hosted by Melody at Vividry! (Awesome blog, BTW. I highly recommed following.)

Here are the rules, via Melody:

1. Anyone can participate. :) As long as you can come up with three things that have benefited you in your blogging journey, you are welcome to join in! Please don't feel intimidated by the long-time bloggers or bloggers who have several hundred followers or whatever else may intimidate you. It doesn't matter how long you have been blogging or how many followers you have - you have tips to share! And besides, who knows how many bloggers might benefit from what you've learned?


2. Make sure that your tips are not just preferences. For example, a good tip would be: "Don't have the background of your posts be a similar or conflicting color with the color of your words." A preference would be more like "A three-column blog looks nicer than a two-column blog."

3. If your tips are specific for a certain kind of blog, that is great as well! Just please make sure to state that next to the tip. (i.e. Tip #1 [for photography blog] )

4. Please only post three tips! I know it's hard to narrow things down, but I did pick the number three for a reason (and no - the reason wasn't just for alliteration). This way you have to think carefully and only post your very best tips. Some ideas for you are to pick the three things that were the most helpful to you when starting, or maybe the three things you learned that radically changed the way you blog or the amount of followers you received.

Sounds fun, no?

NO?! Well, too bad. I'm going to do it anyways. :)

Blog Parade!

Okay now. Bleah Briann is having a blog parade (as you can see from the title :P) and she's trying to get 100 people to do it. Eesh. So, dear followers, how about pasting these questions to your own post and answering them yourself?

The rules are that you must give my your link to your post (and you must post with the image), you tell your own followers to link up to you, me, and Bleah (you MUST tell me if you do it!), I will then link back to Bleah and state just how many of my followers have participated in the parade, and then you also have to go to her blog and link up. Right now? Waiting.

Hmmm. I'm not really a fan of sweet stuff, so I can't say either.

Stripes or Polka Dots?

Striped! Polka dots just don't jive with me much. I think they look too silly for me.

Pink or Blue?

Blue. I used to be pink-crazy, but not anymore.

Black or White?

Depends on the season. White's good for summer, bad for winter, black's good for winter, bad for summer.

Skirts or Shorts?

Shorts! I like being able to stretch and run an generally move unrestricted.

Jeans or Slacks?

Um, I don't wear either.

Sneakers or Flats?

Sneakers!

Sandels or Flip flops?

Sandals! (what's with the clothing?)

Once Upon a Time or The End?

The End!

History or Mathematics?

Mathematics! I love math!

Awards or Tags?

Hmmm. Both. Or awards that come with tags. :P

Ballet or Soccer?

Dance.

Keyboard or Pen and Paper?

Keyboard! This is the third millenium!

E-mail or Hand Written Letters?

Depends.

Candles or Flashlights?

Flashlights! Flames are good occasionally, but with flashlights it's just *flick* instant light!

TV or Books?

Books! Unless you're talking about NOVA. Then I might have some trouble deciding.

Action or Romance?

Action! But why not both?

Cats or Dogs?

Neither. How about something that stays in a cage and doesn't run around the house breaking picture frames?
