An all time favorite book? Just one? Ugh....nope, can't do it. Ten maybe...

Do you have an all time favorite? Just one?

Loved the book facts, really cool :)

Michelle Gregory said...

as one of my favorite movie characters says, "I could no sooner choose a favorite star in the heavens." (Ever After)

i have quotes about books today as my A-Z post, and links to other blogs with book quotes. i'll add a link to this post.

Wow, great facts. I only knew about one of those facts and that’s that Gadsby had no e’s in it.

Carole Anne Carr said...

Great facts, and I wish I could say I had a favourite book, but I'd be fighting with myself, as to the one it was, for ever if I had to decide. :0)

L.G.Smith said...

Interesting stuff.

A favorite book? Gah! Too many to choose from.

Elena Solodow said...

Cool facts!

Michael Di Gesu said...

Loved these facts!

As the others, I could never choose just one.

Nice facts about those wonderful, much-loved books. I do not have a favorite book....it's like I tell people when asked, "It's like asking me which of my children is my favorite." There's just way too many absolutely amazing books out there to narrow it down to one (or 100!)

Tiger85 said...

Wow, I didn't know all these awesome facts. I agree with Michelle Gregory on choosing a favorite book. =)

Wow that is some library in that picture! My favorite book of all time is one most people probably haven't heard of. It's The Warriors: Guardians Of The Flame by Joel Rosenberg.

Susan Gourley/Kelley said...

My favorite book of all time changes. I think it's a certain book but I guess I change and it becomes a different book.
I love the picture of all the books. How cool would it be to browse there.

Lydia K said...

Cool book facts! I didn't know about Gone with the Wind. Wow!

Hannah Kincade said...

I have many favorite books but the one that I've read the most, I guess I would call my favorite. I've read it five times and each time I discover something new.

Noemi said...

Very interesting facts, but I have a question. How could Ernest Vincent Wright write a book without a single "e" when his own name has an "e"? He didn't write his name on his book?

Cruella Collett said...

Very interesting facts! I love books, and didn't know most of these facts. Great post :)

The Words Crafter: LOL. I couldn't pick just one, either. :D

Glad you liked them!

Michelle: Great quote! The character hit the nail on the head there.

Thank you!

Angelina: I hadn't even known that before I started looking up facts! :P

Carole: Me, too. :)

L.G.: It's the same with me!

Elena: Glad you enjoyed them!

Michael: I'm glad you liked them. :)

Me, neither. I just wanted to find out how people would reply!

Varmit: I would have trouble with 100, too! LOL.

Tiger85: It's the perfect quote. :)

Heather: Wouldn't it be awesome to go there? :D

I've never heard of that book--I'll have to check it out!

The Golden Eagle said...

Susan: It's the same for me, too--one of the reasons I'd never be able to choose just one!

Agreed!

Lydia: I don't like Gone With the Wind much. Which makes it a little astonishing to me. :P

Hannah: Which book is it?!

Noemi: I didn't think of that. I guess he didn't!

Cruella: Thank you! Glad you liked the post. :)

This is really interesting! I have many favorites, but the one book that I LOVE is The Wish List, by Eoin Colfer.

Thanks for these book facts - all of them quite mind-boggling - hard to choose one favourite book but - if I had to (e.g. if someone was dangling me over a cliff, saying Do It Or Else) - I'd say Cider with Rosie - it's not so much a book as somewhere I go when things get rough :-)
Thanks again
All best

My favorite book? I am not sure, but I have a favorite author of all time...I love J.R.R Tolkien's books. So all of them?

Laura said...

Great post and facts... one of my favourite books (as it was the first ' proper' book I read as a kid) is The Sheep Pig by Dick King-Smith.
See you tomorrow

Margaret: You're very welcome--I'm glad you liked the post! :)

Liz: I have to agree. :D

Emily: I read that book--I like anything that Colfer writes (he has the BEST style) but for some reason I never fell in love with The Wish List . . . even though I expected to really like it.

Karla: You're welcome! It was fun to write this post. :)

Oh, I have books like that. Old friends to return to again and again when I want to escape.

RaShelle: Has it been established yet that I do, too? ;)

Jules: Glad you enjoyed it!

I would have to say my favorite genre is SF--but that's a hard choice. There are great books in every genre.

Old Kitty: For some reason it won't load anymore--but the SOURCE link below will take you to the image. :)

You're very welcome!

It's online to read--for free, too!

I have one of his books in my stack of library books--Thief of Time, I believe it is. I'm really looking forward to reading it. :D

Alex: The Bible?

M.J.: I agree. Series can be so cool.

And hey, if they're all in one volume, that could count as a single book. ;)

Glad you liked it!

Siv: Thank you! Welcome to The Eagle's Aerial Perspective. :)

Fourth Grade Teacher: Ha! They sure picked a name for that site. :P

Thanks for the link--I checked it out, and there are some awesome images!

Jemi: Neither would I. LOL.

Thanks!

Niki: Working around books would be fun. :)

Misha: Hoped some readers would like the image. ;)

That was kind of a trick question--a lot of bloggers seem to be die-hard readers!

Murees: True. They can and do play a huge part.

The LOTR is a great series. Have you seen the movies?

Laura: Thank you!

I've never heard of it--but from the title, it sounds interesting! The first "proper" book I read was Charlotte's Web. :P

Stephanie: I know. And I thought my book was too long . . . LOL.

Glad you enjoyed them!

Nutschell: You're welcome! :)

I have no idea . . . months? Years? Decades?

Alleged: That's what I thought when I found out!

Thelmaz: I'll be sure to! Thanks for coming by my blog. :)

Awesome post! I love books, and I have to say that my favorite book of all time is . . .the Bible, Ender's Game, the Hobbit, Dragon Slippers . . . wait, just one?

Pearson Report said...

Excellent post - I learned a lot! How much I will retain is always the challenge.

Favourite book - there are many, but in fact I do have one - a JM Barrie classic - Peter Pan! My greatest frustration was when GOSH (the owners of the copyright) decided to have a sequel written - some things are not meant to go any further! (personal opinion obviously not shared by the folks at GOSH)

Thank you for adding yourself as a Follower on my site - I hope you find it interesting!

And...that's a great avatar photo you have!

Also, my favorite book of all time is Independent People by Halldor Laxness

Sylvia van Bruggen said...

Lol that is very impossible to choose. I do have several books I love to read again and again. Guess if I had to pick it would become American Gods by Neil Gaiman

Brian said...

Those were really cool facts! I didn't know that about Gone with the Wind!

Tattytiara: Yup!

Tomara: Me, too. :)

I love the title of that book!

Thanks!

Tyrean: Thank you!

I have yet to read Ender's Game--although I've heard a lot about it and it sounds like a great book.

Pearson: Thanks!

It's so frustrating when they do things like that. Some books should be left along--they have so much more magic that way. :)

You're welcome! I was visiting A-Z blogs and definitely thought yours was one worth following.

Thanks!

Jeanne: Glad you enjoyed the facts! :)

I still have to read The Help--but I will get around to it! A lot of people seem to love the book.

Ali: I know . . . those are a lot of words. :P

Kari: Glad you did! :)

Elliot: Hi there! Welcome to The Eagle's Aerial Perspective.

Never heard of that book--I'll have to check it out!

Sylvia: I love Neil Gaiman's books! I haven't read that particular book yet, though.

Also, aren't they making a movie of America Gods? (Crosses fingers it isn't as bad as the screenplay for Beowulf (2007), which Gaiman co-wrote or something like that.)

Brian: I didn't, either!

Talli: I love long stories--but that one might be just a little too long! :P

Ellie: I don't doubt it! :)

Alberta: Thanks!

Neither could I.

Madeleine said...

Wow now I didn't know any of that. I love my books I'm not sure I could pick a favourite as I love them for different reasons :O)
