Jenny Pearson at Pearson Report recently awarded me The Fancy Fish Award:

Thank you, Jenny! :)

This one comes with a catch, however, and here it is:

I have to link back to Underwater Tales, the origin of this award.

And answer these questions:

Tell us a little about yourself:

  • Do you like to swim?
  • Have you ever swum with dolphins?
  • Do large bodies of water scare you?
  • What's your favorite movie that features water?
  • If you could be a sea creature what would it be?

. . . and "find three pals of the ocean to pass this along to".

Linked, so now to the questions!

Do you like to swim?
I don't know how. The closest I've gotten is floundering about like a fish out of water in a lake. And that was a while ago.

Have you ever swum with dolphins?
Nope. Though I did see a dolphin show, once . . .

Do large bodies of water scare you?
Not really. My tune might change, however, if I actually went out on a boat. I've never been on a boat, either. :P

What's your favorite movie that features water?
Happy Feet. Go, Mumble!

If you could be a sea creature what would you be?
Golden Eagles don't live underwater, do they? Hmm . . . how about a narwhal? Fascinating creatures, narwhals.

And I award:

Petty Witter at Pen and Paper
Alleged Author at An Alleged Author
Misha at My First Book

So what about you? Ever swum with dolphins? :)

Congrats on your award, so iron that you don't swim though. I love swimming, it's one of my favorite past times. I'd be in the water all the time if I could. :)

Congratulations! Never swam with dolphins although I've seen many in the wild. Now, just keep swimming, swimming!

Sananora said...

I've never swam with dolphins, but I had the opportunity to touch one at Sea World a couple years ago.

You need to learn how to swim! :) At least a little bit...to be on the safe side.

Beth said...

No, but I really want to.

Jemi Fraser said...

Narwhals are an awesome choice! :)

Shelly said...

Congrats to you!

Old Kitty said...

I can't swim! LOL!

But I LOVE dolphins and walks BY the sea! Maybe a paddle or two in the shallow bits but no more!! Yay!

CONGRATULATIONS - what a fab and cute award!! Yay! Take care

Congrats on the award. Fun theme questions. I've never swum with dolphins, but I went on a catamaran trip on Kaua'i and some came to swim with us. It was awesome.

Shelley said...

No, I've never swum with dolphins, though I want to, it's on my bucket list! :) Congrats!

Christine Rains said...

Congratulations! I've never swum with dolphins either. I don't have the desire to, but I'd love to scuba dive in a coral reef or a jelly fish lake.

Josh Hoyt said...

Congrats! Swimming is great fun but my wife is deathly afraid of it.

Charles Gramlich said...

congrats. I am myself a horrible swimmer.

Congrats on the award! That's a cool one, too.

I can't swim, but I can do a great imitation of a fishing lure in water.

Swim with dolphins? That would be awesome. *sigh*

Sarah Pearson said...

Lovely award!

I can swim, but not straight. I start on the left side of the pool and by the time I've swum a length I'm pretty much in the other corner.

Peggy Eddleman said...

Um... I've swam with my daughter who thinks she is an absolute pro at swimming like a dolphin. Does that count?

Michael Di Gesu said...

Congrats on the award! It's so cute....

Never had the opportunity to swim with the dolphins, but would LOVE to do do it.

Deborah Walker said...

Congratulations on the award. I've never swum with dolphins. I've snorkelled over the top of turtles, though-- that was great.

Hi Golden Eagle,

Those were great answers! It's always interesting finding out a little more about a person I admire in this blogging world.

Courtney and I have enjoyed your contribution to our own blogging worlds and are happy so see you enjoying your award!

Also, on a grammatical note, in my post I used "swam" incorrectly in my question, "have you ever swam with dolphins". You caught it and kindly you corrected it! Thank you!

Indeed the correct word is swum.
I swim
I swam
I have swum
I had swum

Funny how one letter can make such a difference.
I do try hard to stay on top of using good grammar but sometimes I let words slip through the cracks, case in point.

As always...you and your site are awesome! Each time I drop by I learn something new!

Cheers, Jenny

That's a cute award.

I haven't swum with dolphins, but I'd like to someday.

never swam with dolphins but I was once kissed by one :)

Heather: Thanks!

LOL. I suppose it is. :P I'd like to learn, but there aren't any pools around here . . . or classes, for that matter.

Alex: Thank you!

It must have been cool to see them in the wild!

Sananora: I know; good thing there aren't a lot of boats around here. :P

Beth: It would be fun, wouldn't it? :)

Jemi: Thanks! I like them--and not many sea creatures have the kind of tusk they do!

Shelly: Thank you! :)

Old Kitty: So I'm not, like, the only one who can't swim around here?

I've walked next to the sea, albeit just a few times--and once my mom and I went walking along a beach when the tide was out.

Thank you! :)

Donna: Thanks!

It is a fun theme. :D

That does sound like fun; and I love catamarans.

Shelley: I need to make up a bucket list one of these days. :)

Thank you!

Christine: Thanks!

I'd love to scuba dive at some point, although learning to swim first would certainly help! LOL.

Josh: Thank you!

Aw, that's too bad. :(

Charles: Thanks!

But at least you can swim. I just run away in fear of drowning. :P

Clarissa: Thank you! :)

Bryce: Thank you!

LOL. That sounds like me.

Hey, maybe a Bloggers Swim With Dolphins program should be set up, in which we all take a vacation to Hawai'i or something. There seem to be enough people who want to swim with them. ;)

The Golden Eagle said...

Sarah: Thanks! It's one of the most unique ones I've had the honor of receiving. :)

I'd end up at the bottom of the pool, forget the corner . . . LOL.

Peggy: Sure. ;)

Thank you for following my blog! Welcome to The Eagle's Aerial Perspective.

Michael: Thank you! :)

I agree; wouldn't it be awesome to swim with them sometime?

Deborah: Thanks!

Wow. I didn't know you could snorkel on top of turtles . . . but it sounds like fun. :D

Jenny: Thank you! I love the award--it's wonderful, and thinking about being underwater is perfect for the hot weather we're having right now! :)

It's an easy mistake to make; after I posted, I kept thinking "'I've never swum' . . . wait, is that actually right? No, it's right. Wait, no, that doesn't sound the way it's supposed to . . ." but I decided to leave it the way it was.

It's an easy mistake to make--the English language is a finnicky one. :P

Thank you so much for visiting! :)

Talli: Thank you!

Me, too. :)

Misha: Thanks!

One of my favorites. Although, I have to say, I didn't entirely approve of Mumble getting together again with Gloria at the end. It seemed . . . out of place, next to what he told her before. :P

Anyway. I still love it.

Medeia: One of the cutest I've seen!

Same here.

Mshatch: Awww! :)

I didn't learn to swim until I was in my late teens. It's not easy to learn when you've already developed fears.
I would love to swim with dolphins.

Nas Dean said...

Congratulations on your award!

Try swimming it's fun!

laughingwolf said...

not with dolphins, yet!

Alleged Author said...

Thank you so much! Does that mean we get to piss people off by thwapping our fins against the underside of a boat? I'm just saying.

I will post my stuff on Wednesday and link back to yoooooou!

I lived near the ocean so not scared of it. Loved swimming with dolphins. I would be a starfish...they seem pretty safe from shark attack. No lake can compare to the ocean, really. I miss it. :)

Regina said...

Like you I have watched a dolphin show or two. That award it sweet. All I can think about is "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming..swimming, swimming, swimming." That keeps me going. :)

Funny contest/questionaire:)

The Golden Eagle said...

Susan: I guess I should get myself to a pool then, huh? :P

Me, too.

Nas: Thank you!

I want to try it . . . even though I don't like getting my face wet. LOL.

Laughingwolf: Thanks! :)

As I said to Bryce; we bloggers need to get together and have some kind of dolphin meet!

Alleged: I'm sure rocking the boat is a requirement for this award. ;)

Madeleine: Thank you!

Nancy: Thanks!

I'll swing by to check it out. :)

Laila: You've swum with dolphins? I think you may be the only one here who has!

True. Not many things eat starfish, that I know of.

Regina: It's amazing to see what the dolphins can do, isn't it?

Well, if it keeps you swimming! :)

Mark: It is a funny one--I've never been asked if I've swum with dolphins before. :P

Congrats on your award, and awesome answers. ;) I'd love to swim with dolphins, but that hasn't happened yet.
