Now That Those Days Are Over . . .

I hope that you had a wonderful holiday weekend, everyone!

As for me, I had a great time with my mom; it was a nice and quiet holiday.

What was yours like? Do tell in the comments, because I'm curious. :)

I had fun too! Christmas eve we went to mass, and then got home to delicious dinner. A four year old and a five year old who I thought were going to set the stacking dolls on fire (accidentally) and goood food. It was at my house, and really fun. Christmas day we went to my aunt's house.

Now that I'm on break, I had a nice time visiting family.

Happy New Year!

Mine was anticlimatic: and I like it that way. All the rush and worry, then the present opening, and everyone goes off to await dinner.

This year, most of the kids left early in the day, and I got some peace and quiet. So nice.

And I'm still on staycation from my day job, so I'm very happy sleeping in :)

Such a great way to end the year.

I'm glad your Christmas was good. The day before Christmas Eve and Christmas Eve were hectic and loaded with fun and family and friend visits. Christmas Day was family, but I didn't host - YES! - so quite relaxing. The day after Christmas was quiet time with just the two of us and the dogs. Smiling.

It was awesome! Have gone anywhere for a couple days and I like it. Even had snow this weekend.
Glad you enjoyed your Christmas.

Glad you and your mother had a nice holiday. My wife and I spend the Christmas weekend with her Dad on his farm in northwest Georgia. Nice and quiet as well. Snow, too, several inches of it. Kind of fun, especially since the roads were clear by the time we came home last night.

Have a wonderful New Year.

We had snow too, but only about 2 inches. It started late Christmas Eve and was breathtaking mixed with the Christmas lights up and down the neighborhood.

Hope you have a wonderful 2011!

We celebrated with the little guy last Wednesday because he has so many relatives to see. So Christmas Day was very quiet.
I reread two Christie novels and watched a couple of movies.

I had a wonderful frenzied Christmas Eve and Day spent with hubby, sister and brother-in-law, daughter and son-in-law, and the life of the party - my 4 year-old grandson.

Glad you had a wonderful holiday.

My sister cooked all the wonderful foods she had grown and put up this year.

My children and Grandchildren were there.

I am also glad it's over.

Nice and quiet, mmmmmmmm! I got to spend some time with my family; it's hard for us to get together because of all our crazy work schedules.

And, I caught up on some much needed rest.

Ours has been wonderful - although I'm totally wiped out at the moment! I 've cooked 3 big family meals and had tons of people over - loving it!

Nice to hear you had a wonderful Christmas.

Christmas Eve is when Italian's celebrate. It was a cozy evening with friends and fantastic food while listening to Christmas music and looking at the tree. It also snowed here in Chicago and it really added to the magic.

Wishing you a happy and eventful New Year.

I had a crazy weekend with family. I forgot what's like to have lots of kids around the house. The best birth control in my opinion.

I'm glad to see you had a nice Christmas!
Mine was lots of fun too! My father, who is an excellent cook made this huge feast . Lots of relatives came over . The bad part was that I had to babysit all the children , which I dislike :(
But overall it was fun. My sister and I went out for a movie too.

Mine was family chaos, LOL. my youngest was having a bad day- she broke a christmas present. My sister had some drama, my brother didn't show up til late, and there were way too many of us crammed into a small house eating dinner....but then it was just me and grandma my honey and the kids...so it was a nice time to play board games and calm everything down. i love my family even with all the drama- just glad it only happens once a year...lol

My Christmas was a little stressful, but it's all stamina building stuff :O)

Happy Christmas! Mine was relaxing and nice. Off to Part II on Thursday - visiting with the inlaws in Cairo!

Nancy: Oh dear. There must have been a lot of energy on their part! And exhaustion on yours . . . :P

Sofia: They almost set dolls on fire?! Ack! Glad nothing happened.

It does sound like you have a lot of fun! :)

Theresa: I'm glad to hear you had a good time!

You too! Happy New Year!

Donna: Peace is always nice, and it can be such a relief after a lot of stress before. :)

I hope the New Year brings many good things your way!

Carol: Thank you!

It's easier to go over to someone else's than have everyone in your own home, isn't it?

I think I smiled too. :)

Alex: Staying home can be a nice break!

There's been a lot of snow--it was on the news that a lot of places had the first white Christmas in over a century!

Thanks!

Malcolm: It was nice; and quiet, too. :)

Wow, snow in Georgia! That's definitely not a state I associate with snow . . .

It's always more fun if it's off the roads by the next morning!

Happy New Year!

Lisa: It sounds beautiful--lights and snow can be magical together!

Wishing you a wonderful New Year as well! :)

Mary: I hope he had fun!

I've never read any Christie--I want to, actually, just to see what they're like . . .

Jane: It sounds like you had a great time with your family! :)

Jules: I do hope Mouse is okay!

Thanks, Jules! :)

Gail: Thank you!

Mmmm--homemade and homegrown! That sounds good.

Not much happened here, but there is a kind of sigh of relief passing by now that the holidays are winding down!

The Words Crafter: That's good--I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

Sounds like a plan. :)

Jemi: It does sound like a lot! 3 meals--that's not a little amount of food! Glad to hear you're enjoying it, though!

Colene: Thanks! I'm glad to hear you had a good time as well. :)

Happy New Year!

Gideon: It sounds like a wonderful Christmas Eve--and Chicago with snow falling must have felt magical!

Thanks! Happy New Year to you, too!

Clarissa: LOL. I can imagine that a house full of kids would be rather hectic . . .

Misha: Thanks, Misha!

It sounds like there was some good food. :D

Too bad you had to babysit everyone--I would have exploded (or imploded) if I had to do that . . . LOL.

Cool!

Summer: Ah, that does sound chaotic! But at least things calmed down and you were able to get in some downtime. :)

Yes, thank goodness it's only annual.

Madeleine: Thanks!

True--a test of strength, endurance! Could turn that into a writing lesson somehow, I'm just sure . . . :D

Emily: Wait, was it from your birthday, or someone else? Because if it was yours I have to wish you a Happy B-Day. :)

Talli: Have fun in Cairo!

My husband had a four-day weekend, so we had lots of fun laying around the house doing nothing. It was great. :)

Mine was quiet. I worked during the day on Xmas and my husband worked 24 hours on Xmas. We opened presents Xmas eve. But it was still nice.

The Golden Eagle said...

Su: Glad to hear you had a good time! :)

Alison: 24 hours?! That sounds rough. I hope you both have a good long break!
