Did You Know . . .

. . . that the Empire State Building moored a dirigible?

. . . that one of the largest pyramids in the world is in Las Vegas?

. . . that the Pentagon once spent $7,600 for a coffeepot, $435 for a hammer, and $640 for a toilet seat?

I know I didn't!

(I am not kidding you, in case you were wondering.)

I love trivia. I know I'm not going to rule the world with trivia, but it's fun to know about.

Thank you for all your comments on the Ease or Throw the Reader? post--it was great learning what you thought about that subject!

Anyway, I'm also here to say that RaShelle (who was recently nominated for the Sexiest Female Blogger Award at TheMovie411--go vote for her!) awarded me this lovely mug:

Which I am going to give her a big *hug* and THANK YOU! for. :)

I'm now going to pass it on to these wonderful bloggers:

Summer Ross
Jai Joshi
Rachael Harrie
Old Kitty
Karen Gowan

. . .  and I do think that's all I came to post about today.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Ha! Love the mug. And the pictures. I've actually been to the pyramid in Vegas. The strip is kind of a surreal experience. Happy Thanksgiving!

Congrats to the winners! And re the trivia - Aha!! So that's where the comment from the father in Independence Day comes from (totally went over this kiwi's head ;p)

I didn't know that about the Empire State Building! And when I was a college student, I used to work on historical documents about that building too. The time a small airplane hit it was quite something.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Oh wow! Thanks, Golden Eagle.

That trivia was fascinating. It's always interesting to find out stuff like that.

Again, thanks for that lovely mug!

Congrats on your mug and lucky ones you passed it on to. :)

Did you know that the Empire State building was built in I believe 13 months and what we know as modern construction practice actually was invented to erect that building within the time frame.

OH, I love trivia!

I knew about the pentagon...and to think they're protecting our country. Maybe the toilet seats are really bombs. The first @$%^& bombs. LOL I guess I'm being sarcastic today. Forgive me.

Did you know there are actually more Egyptians living in Las Vegas than in Egypt?

Angie: Really?! Wow. That must have been an experience. :D

Nicole: The comment from the father in Independence Day? Um, that's kind of going over the American's head, too. LOL.

Lydia: Yes, I read about the plane that hit it!

Cool that you worked on historical documents--there's so much to learn about history.

Liz: You're welcome!

Jai: I love little facts . . . I can read trivia books for hours. :P

You're very welcome. :)

Summer: Enjoy!

Jules: Thanks, Jules!

No, I didn't know that! I did read something about the construction beginning on Mother's Day, though. :D

Joanna: Indeed. Gold, it should be for that kind of price!

Flutietootie: It sort of reminded me of 9-11, too; but at least the dirigible didn't crash against the State Building!

Thanks for commenting, BTW. :)

Old Kitty: Las Vegas is a strange place--there's a lot of stuff mashed together there. :P

Have fun with your mug!

L'Aussie: I didn't want my post to be that strange, LOL.

Nancy: Did someone mention defense budget cuts?

Well, there are the dung bombs from Harry Potter. ;)

Holly: Thanks, Holly!

Clarissa: Thank you, and I'm glad you liked the trivia!

Colene: You're welcome!

Medeia: Me, too. :D

Carol: Finding interesting facts not many people know is something I love doing!

Lynda: Yeah, it is a bit amusing . . .

The Blogger Formerly Known As: Well, I actually wouldn't be shocked if that proved to be true . . . LOL.

Thank you!

And to all of you: HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
