Ah well. It isn't nearly so bad that I'm going to be singing this again (that I'm reserving for March. Or even April) and a little snow in the morning looks rather pretty.

Do you get snow, and if so, have you had any yet? Do you like winter at all?
(And yes, I'm trying to come up with topics for the last stretch of NaBloWriMo. Only one day left in October, which is a fairly scary thing. Got to go work some more on my NaNoWriMo novel.)

We had snow. Probably about five or six inches so while a lot for October, it was not so much in the grand scheme of winter in the Mount Washington Valley.
I don't much care about winter but my significant other HATES snow. Odd for someone whose lived in New England his entire life but what are you gonna do, right?
There was actually a little snow here! I was surprised. But mostly rain. It was a pretty gross day, actually. It's so bizarre - we're still smack dab in the middle of fall!!!
I wish we got more snow! I miss it.
Looks pretty - I hope we get some (but not too much) soon ...
Keep the snow over there! I just want a skiff before Christmas. That's all.
...Unfortunately, I live in Ohio, and that's not going to happen. *grins*
We were snowed in for two months last winter, don't want that again. Still, if it does snow in November I'll be so busy with Nano that I shan't even notice - I hope! Good luck with YOUR writing
No snow where I am, although I used to live in the mountains and there we got snow. Snow is pretty and sometimes exciting but not so much fun when it's around for months and gets gloppy. I hope you don't have too long of a winter this year. Stay warm!
I hate snow. I hate that it pretends to be white and fluffy and then turns into ugly brown/black slush.
And I'm originally from Brisbane Australia where we never had snow. Adds to my hatred. Of course now in Kansas... *sighs*
We didn't get any - but I know we will and I am not looking forward to it.
Good luck with NaNo!
We used to get a lot of snow in New Mexico. Not much here though.
Pretty!
I live in the Southern Hemisphere so it was about 72c yesterday!
Hi Golden
We had our first snowfall last Wednesday. It was late in the year for us but I don't mind. It's all gone now except in the mountains were it can stay. LOL
I will answer part one of your question tomorrow on back story. Hope to see you.

Yup, got snow - and some of it is still here! I love winter.
I love Florida winters. The sun is out no matter how cold it gets.
I love snow - and that's a beautiful picture. I've decided to do Nano this year - so see you there!
Yes, we had a foot of snow at my house last week! Early for us, and it damaged many, many trees that hadn't quite shut down for the winter. Made a huge mess.
I have to admit it was really pretty though. :)
Sure is purty but I'd prefer to judge it vicariously.
Here in the North of England we get snow, but not this early. I hope this isn't going to be a trend that crosses the ocean :-)
I love winter and the change of season. We've had a couple of killing frosts but no snow yet.
I hope it snows for christmas day!! Awwwww love snow when it's winter!!
Take care
x
I love snow, but I'm less enthusiastic when it mixes with rain and sleet, as this did. Still, it was nice to take it easy, make a pot of chili, and hang out with my husband at home.
Yep, 8 inches of it and lost power. Froze my keester off. It's OK in Dec and Jan, but I'm not ready for it at Halloween! (It did look pretty though.)
It's very rare that others get snow before us - I really hope it doesn't come up here, not yet! I mean, once winter comes, it'll be here till April at least. Sigh.
I love snow - when it falls in places where I'm not.
Hate winter. It's a horrible time of year. The only thing that makes it tolerable is that there aren't so many bugs.
It didn't snow here though.
Where I live in Canada it's winter for about 6 months (October - May). But I like it. (Although everyone gets tired of it after awhile...)
no snow here, yet [niagara area], but last three mornings have been frosty... about 50F today, partly sunny... down to about 40 overnite tonite...
i've fought enough snow to last a lifetime... i still like it, but OUT THERE! ;) lol
Snow in October is too early. Twenty years ago in Minneapolis we were getting the Halloween blizzard. 30 inches of snow fell in two days and completely shut the city down. It was crazy (and a little fun).
Gosh that picture is beautiful. I love snow, probably mostly because I never get any where I live. We have horribly hot summers. I do like our mild winters, but they never bring snow!
Snow! Wow. I love snow, but I don't like cold or the wet or the shoveling or the car wrecks it casues. Ha! I guess that's why I live in Florida.
I'm going to attempt NaNo too. Let's keep each other motivated!
No snow yet, but it's Nebraska, so I'm sure it's coming. Wish it would stay fall or spring all year long--I'm not so fond of the extreme seasons, I guess.
No snow, just cold but I got my sled out just in case. Love winter, hate the power outages. :)

We haven't had snow yet where I live in Southern Canada. Some years we get a lot, other years for only two weeks. I'm hoping it is a two week winter. :)
LOVE snow. Never get enough of it here in Manhattan. It's basically all gone now too, except perhaps in the park... Snow for Christmas would be great!
The photo is beautiful!!!!(Snow fanatic here.)Was that from the nor'easter yesterday? If so, I'm jealous. Just got one measly thunder rain of it here.
There wasn't any snow here, yet. But I am sure it will come soon enough. Yay! I get to find out if my house gets freezing pipes or not.
You'll be doing NaNoWriMo, then? Good luck. I wrote a screenplay that I may adapt to a novel for NaNoWriMo.
Ah, yes. We get lots of snow. But nothing significant, yet.
Usually around this time of year we get our first major snowfall.
So I'm waiting.
Your picture is brilliant. In several ways.
Snow! Snow! Wow, I was out all day at the allotment, trying to pull our newly acquired second plot into shape. I was hacking at the brambles in a t-shirt on a lovely sunny day. Here in Somerset if we have more than a dusting of snow the country grinds to a halt.
It doesn't really snow here. I mean, they say it snows, but it's nothing more than a dusting that barely covers anything. Of course, last January it snowed. Had just over a foot, which is nothing compared to growing up in Illinois and going to school in Michigan, but Atlanta be crazy people!
Yes! We got snow too! Oi vey....
Its pretty to look at when your snug and warm inside, and if it's just for a while. I left Maine for Florida to get out of digging my way out of the house each morning -from my door to the street. But it can be fun. It can also be scary driving in it!
Great photo!
Nice photo, and that's how I like snow: in photographs! :)
A wonderful photo! I love snow. I turn into a five-year-old when I spot the first flake. We've had quite a bit over the last two winters and I'm hoping for more of the same. I suppose it's a bit early for England but I live in hope.
Yeah, I can't believe it's already snowing for some people! I live in SoCal, so no, we don't get snow. Like ever. You have to go up into the mountains for that. I think it's lovely but I don't think I could handle the coldness that comes with snow, and I probably wouldn't like it if I had to shovel it.
I do like winter, but I'm more of a summer girl. :)
At least it looks pretty:) We don't get snow in my part of California, but we can always visit it in the mountains.
M.J.: That's a lot of snow for this region; a few dustings is more the norm, most of the time.
Yeah . . . though, maybe that's why he despises it so much? :P
Stuart: I like snow, too. :) That sounds like what happened here, too!
That's a long time.
Annalise: Started out raining here, too.
Alex: I'd miss snow, too, if we moved somewhere it didn't come down . . . I'm fond of the white stuff.
Simon: Sending some across the Atlantic. :)
Carrie: LOL. Just enough for the holidays would be nice sometimes.
Carole: One advantage to trying to write 50k words in one month. :)
Thank you!
Tricia: Yup--after a while, the snow gets old (literally and figuratively . . .).
Thanks. You too. :)
K.T. Hanna: I hope it stays away from Kansas for a while, then.
Thanks!
Jennifer: Florida seems like a beautiful place. :)
I know my mom wouldn't mind snow-free weather year-round!
You're welcome!
L. Diane: I don't usually think of New Mexico as being cold enough for snow, but I know it does come down there. :P
Donna: That sounds nice. :)
Nancy: That seems like the best of both worlds--pretty snow in the mountains, but less of it down where people live. :P
Southpaw: I like winter, too. Though Fall/Autumn is my favorite season!
Shelly: Sounds like there are nice winters down there. :)
Susan: Glad you enjoyed the picture. Wikimedia Commons really does come in handy. :)
Good luck with NaNo! I'll be sure to cheer you on next month!
L.G.: A foot? Wow. I'm sorry to hear about the mess!
Charles: LOL. When it comes to some aspects of winter, I wouldn't mind doing that either . . .
Sarah: Hopefully!
Yvonne: Want some sent over? :)
Old Kitty: Me, too! I love it when it snows for the holidays. There's extra magic to it.
Jennifer: Same here. A mix can create a huge mess.
Doesn't sound like a bad way to spend the day. :)
Li: I'm sorry to hear you lost power! That's an awful lot of snow.
Deniz: Snow sometimes hangs around that long here, too.
Rusty: That's one of the reasons I like winter--fewer bugs! For some reason, all the mosquitoes and biting insects seem to love my blood. :P
Gracie: Compared to the weather here, you have a long winter!
That's my reaction to summer after around August or so . . .
I love Winter. We usually get enough snow to sled but not a whole bunch.
Laughingwolf: That's what the weather's like here, too. Frost-free nights are getting rarer.
Agreed. It's even better when it's outside. :)
Kari: Thirty inches of snow for Halloween?! Bet that put a damper on trick-or-treating . . .
Trisha: I'm glad you like the picture!
Come move here. There's lots of snow in the winter. :P
Christina: I don't mind the cold, but the wet and the car wrecks I don't like, either.
Sounds good to me. :)
What's your name over on the site?
Julie: It's summer I don't really like; the other seasons I don't mind.
Jules: Same here. :)
Belle: I'm pretty sure my mom would agree with you on that one!
E.D.: I hope it snows for Christmas, too.
Jes: Glad you like the photo!
I think it was . . .
Hope you get some snow soon! I'd ship some to you the next time it falls here if I could. :P
Draven: I hope your pipes don't freeze.
Thanks!
Good luck with your screenplay. It sounds like a great project!
Rob-bear: I hope you don't get so much snow there's damage or anything.
It's not my picture, actually; I found it on Wikimedia Commons (link to the source is in the text below the image). :)
Paul: It sounds like you're having beautiful weather there! Much as I like winter, some sunshine and warmth now and then wouldn't be too bad.
Joshua: From what I've heard, that region seems to be right on the edge of snow and no snow; but a foot in any area is a lot!
Emily: Not looking forward to winter? :P
Jacqueline: The shoveling part isn't my favorite about snow--that I wouldn't mind avoiding!
Thanks! From Wikimedia Commons. :)
Delia: Glad you like the photo!
LOL. I'd miss snow if I saw it in nothing by photographs.
Shirley: I think I laughed when I first saw the flakes coming down--I do like seeing the first snow of the season. :)
Well, I hope you get the snow you want!
Krispy: I don't mind the cold, really; in fact, over heat, I'd even say I like it . . . :P
Mark: LOL. At least!
That sounds nice--being able to visit the snow but not live with it during the whole winter! It does tend to drag on toward the end there.
Sananora: I haven't been sledding in a while . . . I miss it. :)
Made my first snow angels of the seasons!
Yvie: Awesome. :)
I didn't get any snow, but I wish I had! It would have been great. I hope you had a warm Halloween!
E.R.: If it snows again, I'll see if I can send some over. ;)
It was about the usual--not warm, but not freezing, either. And at least it was sunny. :)
I live in Ohio and I do NOT like snow .. which is pretty bad .. since I live in Ohio ... :(
Maybe it's simply that I don't like the cold that's associated with the snow .. and the bad drivers with bad tires ...
If it snowed when it was .. oh ... say 70 degrees ....
I'd like it then.
It is really pretty. We have not had snow yet this year which is really surprising since last year we had snow at the beginning of October.
I hate snow. I love it on postcards, where it's nowhere near me, but I hate having to go out in it, particularly as we're not allowed to clear the pavements in the UK, so it turns to ice, and then becomes really dangerous.
It seems so early for snow. There doesn't seem to have been enough time to enjoy the Autumn colours. I hope the snow vanishes for you, and you get more time to see the oranges, reds, and yellows.
Julie: I'm sorry to hear you don't like snow! I really like it--though, true, it wouldn't be awful it came down when it was 70 degrees outside. :)
Josh: That is early in the season!
C D: You're not allowed to clear the pavement in the UK? It's required in almost all (if not all) US cities and towns . . . you can actually get fined for not clearing the sidewalk.
Thanks. :) Hope you get some time to enjoy Autumn longer as well!
